ioquake3

  1. Download ioquake3 from https://github.com/MacSourcePorts/ioq3/releases
  2. Copy original Quake 3 baseq3 content folder to ~/Library/Application Support/Quake3/baseq3
  3. Enjoy the game in 4:3

Widescreen support:

  1. Launch and exit game at least once
  2. Edit ~/Library/Application Support/Quake3/baseq3/q3config.cfg
  3. Change:
    seta r_mode "-1"
    seta r_customwidth "1920"
    seta r_customheight "1080"
    seta cg_fov "100"
    

If you experience low FPS, try switching from the opengl2 renderer to opengl1:
