macOS Compatibility

Method Rating Notes
Rosetta 2 Playable Stable at around 75fps at max settings in the early game, but with some minor glitches: no sound in the intro movie, pathfinding indicator when directing a unit appears as plain black dots with no colours or numbers showing turn breakdown[2].
Compatibility layer
CrossOver Unknown
Wine Unknown
Virtualization
Parallels Perfect 40-50fps in the early game. Compatibility mode for Windows 7 is required for Steam overlay to work. Note that while Steam Cloud is available for save games, it doesn't appear to sync between Windows and macOS versions of the game[3].
